Profile:
I am a journalist with a nine-year experience in Online news in Spain. The first three years I worked as an editor in Lavozdegalicia.es, spain’ seventh most viewed digital newspaper. Later I decided to move to Madrid, in order to work for Terra Spain (Telefonica group) where I learned to work with multidisciplinary team groups, dealing with design, marketing, advertisement or business development tasks. I also had to deal with clients and providers there.

At Yahoo! I worked hard with providers and developers, and get used to be in a team where one member was in Sunny Valley, other in Bangalore and a few more through the whole Europe. My following work (at ADN.es) was more editorial focused. As Head of News I had 13 people on my team (reporters, two editors and some juniors who were dealing with agencies teletypes). Later I became Head of Information, managing also the front page team and coordinating Culture, Sports, Science/Tech and Local teams too. Besides from December 2007 to April 2008 I worked in the team that created a whole new CMS for ADN.es. Later I was in charge of the redesign of a News social aggregator web called Fresqui.com. The goal was to give it a more news oriented look and feeling. Later I worked for another four months with the Development Team in ADN.es—now Bitban Technologies—in the development of their CMS, and as PM with a project for Spanish main cars website, km77.

Since the end of September 2009 I’m in Seattle, enrolled in the Master of Communications in Digital Media (UW). My academic goals are to learn more about storytelling, social media and entrepreneurship. My professional goals are to work on new formats for information delivery—news or any other kind—and understand what the user will find interesting to know and the kind of tools that she or he should be provided with for that purpose. This Fall will be my last quarter at the program. So far I stand among the top 10% of my cohort.
